A beautiful stair with glass treads is a combination of the designer’s original imagination with the fitter’s high-quality workmanship. Usually these projects are difficult, but once completed, they are pleasing to the user’s eye and make the space around stairs one of the most attractive places in a building. In addition to esthetic considerations, a glass stair deepen the perspective, adding space and ensuring more light.
Glass steps and landings are most often made of 3 glass panes (TVG and ESG heat strengthened glass or combined with annealed glass), but there are also projects with more panes (e.g. 4 or 5). Glass can be covered with an anti-slip layer, colored, printed, LED-backlit, made of discolored glass, etc.
Below are a few examples of stairs with glass treads from Dubiel Vitrum.
